Guest speaker

Many thanks to our keynote speaker, Mohamed Hamed, Middle Eastern and African Studies Librarian at UNC-Chapel Hill. Hamed’s riveting “Tales from the Cairo Book Fair” gave us an intriguing look into his experiences attending the book fair and acquiring rare and out-of-print materials overseas. The talk came to life even more as a result of the examples Hamed brought — movie posters, magazines, and rare books.
